Day Out with the Elderly (17th December, 2025)
Held at the Old State House, Marina, Lagos, this special outreach brought together 200 elderly participants from multiple care homes and local government areas, including Ojo, Badagry, Epe, and Ikorodu. The program was designed to promote emotional wellbeing, social connection, and dignity among elderly individuals who are often socially isolated.
The day featured a curated sightseeing experience across Lagos (Ikeja to Eko Atlantic to New Coastal Road and Marina), giving participants a refreshing change of environment and an opportunity to experience the city in a relaxed and joyful setting. This was complemented with health talks and basic medical checks to support their physical wellbeing.
Participants also engaged in music sessions, games, and interactive social activities that encouraged bonding and laughter, alongside the distribution of gifts as a gesture of appreciation and care.
The initiative had a strong emotional impact, improving participants’ sense of belonging and wellbeing while helping to reconnect families and strengthen social ties. It also recorded strong interest and demand for more consistent programs focused on elderly care and inclusion.
