A Day Out with the Elderly (12^th December,  2024)

Held at Johnson Jakande Tinubu Park (JJT Park), Alausa, Ikeja, this outreach program brought together 120 elderly participants for a day of recreation, connection, and care. The initiative was designed to promote active ageing, emotional wellbeing, and meaningful social interaction among elderly individuals.

The program featured a memorable recreational outing, beginning with a train ride on the Lagos Blue Line Rail from Marina to Mile 2, followed by a bus transfer to Ikeja, and concluding with a social gathering at JJT Park. These experiences were intentionally curated to provide relaxation, engagement, and a refreshing change of environment for participants.

Through shared travel, group activities, and social interaction, the initiative created opportunities for bonding and community building among the elderly. It helped reduce feelings of isolation while encouraging active participation in communal life.

Overall, the program significantly enhanced emotional wellbeing, strengthened social connections, and promoted the importance of active ageing within the community.
