The Orunsii Welcare Foundation is committed to improving lives and building healthier communities through compassionate care, advocacy, and sustainable support.

Orunsii Welcare Foundation has organized several impactful initiatives focused on mental health advocacy, pediatric surgical support, elderly care, and environmental sustainability. Through these programs, the Foundation has continued to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and promote community wellbeing across different sectors of society.

These events have included workshops addressing the harmful effects of bullying, mental health awareness campaigns targeted at students, teachers, and artisans, donations and financial support for vulnerable pediatric patients requiring surgical care, recreational and wellness activities for the elderly, and active participation in environmental sanitation exercises. The Foundation’s initiatives have created meaningful and lasting impact within the communities reached.

They have contributed to changing perceptions about mental health, empowered individuals to seek support and access available resources, improved access to life-saving medical care for children, enhanced the wellbeing of elderly persons, and encouraged greater community participation in environmental sustainability efforts.

The name “Orunsii” derives from the Yoruba language, commonly spoken in Nigeria. In Yoruba, “Orun” generally refers to the heavens or the celestial realm, while “sii” may mean “open” or “reveal”. Therefore, “Orunsii” could be interpreted as “open heavens” or “revealed heavens,” symbolizing a sense of enlightenment, hope, or spiritual connection.

Who we are

The name “ORUNSII” symbolizes “open heavens,” reflecting the foundation’s commitment to uplifting and providing relief to those in need. The foundation’s work includes a wide range of activities and projects aimed at addressing issues like child abuse, mental health, drug abuse, and providing foster care  paediatric surgical support.

Orunsii Welcare Foundation partners with several organizations, including the Office of the First Lady of Lagos State, British Council Alimosho General Hospital , local government offices, and the Lagos State Health Service Commission, Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, and hospitals offering pediatric surgery, to further its mission.

Campaigns led by the foundation focus on preventing social vices like school bullying, promoting early detection and treatment of mental and physical disorders, and implementing school-based mental health prevention programs across Lagos State.

The foundation also runs fundraising initiatives to support its mission, offering different funds for investment opportunities aimed at addressing mental health, elderly care, and anti- bullying effort  pediatric surgery.

The Orunsii Fund is part of the foundation’s strategy to manage programmatic funds that advance its vision, ensuring those at risk of mental health issues, bullying, and elderly care needs have the opportunity to live healthy and prosperous lives.
